CNMS Hours of Operation

The CNMS is committed to providing its users with routine access to its facilities and instrumentation, as well as technical assistance when needed, during the Operating Hours listed below. Users are expected to schedule their work in advance in consultation with collaborating CNMS staff, and to recognize that individual staff members may have other obligations at specific times, but the intent is that someone will be “on-call” to assist users during these hours. Similarly, facilities and instrumentation may be reserved at specific times during these hours for maintenance or upgrades and for the conduct of CNMS-sponsored research but every effort will be made to give priority in scheduling to CNMS users during these operating hours. Longer hours may be possible for certain facilities on an occasional basis if special arrangements are made in advance.

* Refers to availability of theory research staff at the CNMS. The computing facilities are available 24 hours, 7 days a week and are supported by the NCCS User Assistance Center 9:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri and the ORNL Computer Operations staff at other times.
